In the first shot that we view, we see a sort of code that looks like it comes from a computer, the viewer at the moment doesn't actually know what this is, but they automatically get the impression that this film must be about computers or hacking of some sort. We start to get the effect when it seems like we are tracking into the code to see what is on the otherside of this computer screen. This tracking movement then starts to make the audience feel uneasy as they don't know what, but they know something strange is about to happen, and they don't like the idea that they don't know what this is. They also feel uneasy with the fact this couldn't happen in real life, which gives a sense of sci-fi.

Survey Analysis

Presentation 1

This presentation is is the feedback that we got from a variety of people. We chose random people to ask questions about what different genres they preferred etc. We had to find out this information because then we have more background information about what people actually liked especially as the people that we asked these questions were our target audience and its essential to have this information.

Possible locations

I think we could use this as a possible location because it has such low key lighting. It looks mysterious and i think if we used the right lighting while we are filming we could use this location to our advantage and make it look more like a sci-fi thiller.
This may be a good place to set our sci-fi/thriller as it is typical for a thriller to be set in a bathroom we found this out by the evidence we researched through our evaluations and the fact we watched all different other thrillers/sci-fi's. I think if we made it low key lighting it could make it very tense throughout it.
This could be a good place to set our thriller, because I think it's quite dark looking which automatically brings us into a more nervous theme especially with the dark wood. I think all of our scenes need to be set in a house aswell because ours is about computers and hacking and we need to be inside to do that.

Vox Pop

This video is a different set of people answering the questions that we asked them to help us with planning our opening sequence. With this we found out different facts which we will use towards different parts of our opening sequence, which is how this video has benifitted us. The people that we asked are all people that are included in our grouped target audience. We tried to make sure that we asked these sort of people to make sure we knew what our audience would like to see so they wouldn't be disappointed when they viewed our opening sequence.

Surveys

These are two examples of the sheets of feedback we got received from our audience.  Our audience gave us detailed and thorough feedback making it easier for us to think about our ideas and how we want to carry on further. We found out what interests them and what they would actually like to see when watching a film, so we used this information to make sure we include it in our film.

Wallander

In this shot we barely see anything as a viewer, we start asking questions like: where is this, what is this, why is this important? This has been included on purpose to hide important details from the audience that would give away too much imformation, the director doesn't want this because he wants these questions being asked.

In this shot we see more imformation, things like we are near the seaside, abandoned area, at the countryside.  Even more questions are now being asked like why are we here and why is this significent. The audience now see the setting and it's the first shot we see.

In this shot we see a car, we start asking things like what car is that? We can also vaguely see 2 people walking away from this car, we ask why are they walking away? Are they lost? why are they in such an abandoned place? The director wants us to ask these questions to make it tense for us.

We then know for definate that these girls harmed this man, as one of the girls is holding a knife with blood on it, it's been used. Some of their identity is discovered aswell, as she is wearing some black glove on her hand which looks quite grungy/gothy, also in black which represents danger/death. Also gives us the impression that they done this.

This shot has been taken in the car so you can see the two girls in the foreground. There is blood in the window and the music is still playing which shows how quickly this all happened as no-one even turned the music off/down. You can also see this man is a taxi driver so some of his idendity has been shown to the audience.
These series of pictures show the a cross cutting of the 2 girls then the man injured in the car, then it cuts back to the 2 girls again but this time is shows their identity and body language. They are covered in blood so they have done this to the man, especially with how angry they look. It also shows that these 2 girls and this man have a link with the way that it keeps cutting back like they have done something wrong.

Bridget Jones 2

In this shot you can see that her arms are open wide. This body language dignifies the fact she's confident and loud as she's not afraid to let her feelings out but instead she's singing her heart out and also dancing along to it too. The body language someone uses illustrates to the audience what type of person they are e.g: shy/confident. You can also see that she's holding something aswell to make it look like she's giving it her all, also shows she has a lot of time on her hands.
In this shot, as she's singing/dancing she kicks her leg up to the music and as she does this the title of the seuence fades in which makes it look like it was meant to happen. In these shots the director has used the Rule Of Thirds, they have had to do this to make sure they have enough room on the left to put the credits in. Which fits in perfectly especially as she kicks it in.

The credits for this film are in a orange/white colour which are quite bright colours which makes us picture a comedy in our heads. At the beginning of it she uses a voice over, talking to the audience making the audience feel engaged like she is talking to them. This has been done like she is talking to her so called diary as in the film she starts to write herself a diary and it is also the name of the film.

Bridget Jones

In this establishing shot the audience can view the setting of where the main character is and her surroundings. By doing this we can observe the personality of this person even though we've just seen her. She's all alone as you can see no one else in the frame, alone on christmas is strange as you are meant to be with family/friends, she's aslo wearing pj's which is also another reason why she could be alone as it suggests she's been in all day and she isn't about to go out either as she looks comfortable in what she's wearing.

In this shot, she comes over to her phone. This is an important as she presses the button and finds out she has no messages. This part signifies the whole movie as it's a comedy about her being a middle aged woman living on her own. This gives the audience a hint of what the rest of the film is going to be about. Furthermore, it's a familiar background for the audience as she is at home with the TV on which is something we can relate to.

In this shot we can see her holding a glass of wine and about to down it all. This is suggnificent as she has nothing to do so she's sitting at home on her own drinking wine when she shouldn't be shows the audience how lonely she actually is. This is also the part of the opening when they use Cross Dissolve to show her moving around, which makes it seem to the audience like so much time is going by and she hasn't done anything.
In this shot she is staring into space singing a sad song which both her and the audience can hear which makes this a diagetic sound as it was there the time the film was being shot. This makes it effective as she's mimming along to this music which we automatically do too. This also makes us feel sorry for her as the audience now feel engaged with her as well.
These series of pictures show the density of her body language. The way her arm get wider show how confident she is. She's open and not tucked away in a ball, which is what she would be doing if she was shy.

This is a screen-o-matic of me explaining the difference between an Opening Sequence and a Trailer. I am explaining this because they are both very different and people tend to get them mixed up with each other.

Preliminary Task created by Georgia and Luke

WWW:    With my task I followed the 180 degree rule, which is making sure that the space between me and Luke never changed position. It is essential that we follow this rule of making sure the people/objects haven't changed positions as this will leave the audience wondering, and questioning why they are now different to what they have viewed before. Furthermore, we used match on action when Luke is seen walking through the door and opening in and then walking into the room from a different view on the other side being cut this way to make it look like we didnt do at different times. We have also used a different variety of shots, one of them being an establishing shot, to show who and where all the shots are being filmed also who is involved. I have also used an eyeline shot/over the shoulder shot from my point of view, this is so that the audience can experience what I can see when this was being filmed. This also makes the audience feel more engaged because it feels like they are in my eyes.

EBI:    To improve our task I think we should of re-shot the little part of the video when one of us come out of role, as this doesn't make the task seem as real. Next time i would also like to cut shots down more because i think some of them are too short and loads of time thats included in this is not needed, this can sometimes make the audience feel bored as the shot may drag on for a bit longer than it should. I also think some of the framing we used could of been improved as most of the time the person is just standing in the middle of the camera, but i would prefer them to be standing to the side. These are all things that I am going to consider when shooting my next piece.
